What in tarnation is going on here?! The dumbest fuck that ever sat his privileged white ass at the Resolute desk is out of his fucking mind. Congressional Republicans watch, whimper, obstruct democracy, pay homage to America’s billionaires, throw bones to MAGA and America’s white supremacists, wait between Trump’s diaper changes before the next incomprehensible Cabinet meeting of regime screwballs – and we Americans are supposed to sit back and put all our hope in the next election? Elections are what shoved this insanity into Power.
We cannot trust our fellow American voters. This is the most upsetting aspect of all that is happening right now. Put aside the fact that we are in a war that NO ONE wanted, that this regime started without Congressional approval, that began with lies and criminal aggression. Put aside the fact that human beings – immigrants and U.S. citizens – are kidnapped and forced into privately-owned detention centers where human rights are ignored, that many have died thereby. Put aside the fact that this regime daily multiplies its attacks on public education, public news media, universities, healthcare, social programs that specifically serve the poor and vulnerable among us, all news-delivery media, and free speech. Put aside the fact that this regime is strategically threatening to disrupt election processes and is strengthening voter suppression strategies. Put aside the fact that the Trump and Kushner families among many other billionaires are using their official office to enrich themselves. Put those facts aside for a moment and consider how such criminality in this nation is possible – because tens of millions of voters gave their votes to these authoritarians.
We cannot trust the Republicans in state and national power. Just as we could see and hear for ourselves throughout the 2024 campaign year that Donald J Trump was physically and mentally deteriorating, so also did all Republican leaders who spent any time in close contact with the serial rapist. The Republican leadership lied to American voters – campaigning for the sick old fuck and covering up his failing health. Just as we could see and hear since Donald J Trump thrust his ugly face and stupid ideas in front of television and film cameras in the 1980s that he is utterly and uncontestably stupid, so also did all Republican leaders since the 1980s despise and suspect him. Instead of protecting our nation from Donald J Trump and the far-right lunatics that follow him, starting in 2016 Republican leaders agreed to make him their Useful Idiot. They’ve supported and covered for him ever since. Which ties in perfectly to why they also genuflect to Putin, Netanyahu, Musk, and American fascists. Now we have proof that the Republican party is a criminal enterprise, no longer serving The People, no longer in office to govern.

He is irrational, erratic, and unreliable. Two examples:
Steven Beschloss: “ The man sitting behind the Resolute Desk is out of his mind. This person possesses the title of Commander-in-Chief. This person is “deciding” how to conduct a war against Iran that he started. He does not know what he’s doing.”
Jeff Tiedrich: “I swear, I’m running out of ways to describe how clownfuckingly stupid this all is — but I have to keep trying, because every day, another one of Donny’s merry band of morons pipes up with a new variation on ‘gee, no one could have predicted that any of this could have happened.’ WE ALL PREDICTED THIS, YOU SHIT-KAZOOS. and oh look, it’s only taken one day for Preznit Fuckwit to go from begging our allies to pretty-please help to threatening our allies if they don’t help.”
But it is exhausting to explain how Americans did vote these morons into office (at least 80 million did not vote in 2024…” because Gaza”) and equally exhausting to hope I can influence the 2026 election and hope that it turns this Trump Republican madness around. First, people who do not care enough about others (in Gaza, Iran, Ukraine, and the U.S.A.) to vote for the best option no matter the differences they have with party leaders are people who waved goodbye to Empathy years ago. They did not become selfish pricks overnight.
Second, people who vote for Republicans now are willfully ignorant -- because since the George W Bush era the Republican party openly sold its conservative soul to right wing extremists like Christian Nationalists and equally self-serving oligarchs – and White Christian Male Supremacists. I implore you to prove me wrong.
Third, my voice among billions who post essays, videos, and blogs is inconsequential. I know it. But my lonely voice is still out there voicing open Resistance. That is all that matters to me.
Finally, one election will not undo the damage done already by the Trump administration and this Republican Congress, much less the damage done in the decades since Christian Nationalism became the GOP’s hallmark and guide. America chose an ignorant, demented old rapist moron as its president. America chose the Republican criminal enterprise to create law and enact policy. American, I do not trust you to do what is right.
The thing about Resistance is that we do not assume most citizens are with us. We assume that most citizens do not have the knowledge, interest, empathy, or courage to act. This assumption protects us from grave disappointment and apathy. This assumption reinforces our belief in non-violent, persistent, smart, strategic, and open resistance...because any other types of resistance would further degrade and undermine our efforts.
